Friends, it occurs to me that many of us have been taught that we were powerless, quite on purpose— because the people in charge need you to be docile. I share a personal story about how power has worked on me as an entry point to illuminate the confidence game that is white supremacy.
Why am sharing this? Because fascists are conning you, right now, into thinking we are trapped in this game with them. We are not.
They want you to think our options are limited, that we’re trapped into cowering and letting them disappear and oppress us or we can take up arms and be annihilated. Those are not our only options. There’s a better one.
Also, the institutions they’re destroying right now? Yeah, it’s absolutely catastrophic, in many ways. People have already died, and they will continue to die until we stop these guys. But you also need to hold onto the fact that these Christian nationalists and techno-fascists are wrecking a generation system of power that white supremacy not only built but also rigged to keep us yoked to their bullshit.
We don’t have to be yoked to their bullshit, folks.
There’s another way out of this. It’s not as arduous as you think, and it doesn’t require firing a single shot. If you feel trapped by these abusers’ nonsense, caught in their ideological dragnet: listen in, neighbor.
And if this meant something to you, I would consider it an honor if you would share it with your neighbors and friends, directly via email or text/Signal message. These algorithms are janky. Also, if you haven’t subscribed to Letters from a Weirdo on Apple Podcasts, I’d love it if you would, just so that we can stay connected outside Pete Theil’s algorithmic nonsense.
