Behind the #MeToo movement is another endemic of sexual harm that most adults are too fucking cowardly to address: the sexual harm of children. While all of you are recording Substack lives and TikToks laughing uncomfortably at the Epstein files fallout, I need you to realize there are people all around you who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

One in four kids recorded female at birth and one in six kids recorded male at birth are sexually harmed as children.

I can tell you one thing: adult survivors of this harm are not laughing along with you. The kids who currently live in this kind of hellscape aren’t laughing either. For those kids, it’s unsafe to take a full breath. It’s unsafe to sleep through the night. It’s unsafe to accept food from a caregiver. It is unsafe to tell adults, because they’ll do everything in their power to unhear the ugliness and depravity too many adult men perpetrate on children.

I recorded this podcast angry as hell. It is raw. It is unfiltered. And it is a truth that you need to hear, because if you cannot find it in yourself to bring this shit-show to a halt right fucking now, then this country isn’t worth saving. It’s not.

Where is your integrity? How much harm are you willing to numb out and ignore? Do you have the moral courage to allow yourself to be so enraged that you stop scrolling and start organizing offline, in your own neighborhood to shut this country down? Will you allow yourself to feel temporary inconvenience in the name of dignity for your neighbors? If there’s even a single hedge in your response, I cannot help you.

Powerful white men, whether they’re wrapped in tax loopholes, business skullduggery, or cherry-picked Bible verses, are the overwhelming majority of perpetrators of sexual harm to children.

We live, and have always lived, in a rape culture that provides next to zero relief for children who are harmed by powerful white men. Zero.

I want you to imagine how much worse it can get and multiply that number by a thousand: because silence is complicity, and if you’re not enraged enough to shut this down until these men are forced out, you will have signaled to them implicit permission to accept their depravity as part of everyday life. You will give men who rarely experience consequences for their harm, because no one believes their victims, a green light to escalate. And they will escalate, because now they’ve got an authoritarian who is willing to cover for them, because he shares in their fucking moral rot.

It’s time to stop working. It’s time for you to shut this down. It’s time to get offline and organize in your neighborhood and prepare to hold a general strike until these fucking criminals are removed from office— not at midterms: right now. Right. Now. Adult survivors aside, the children in your life deserve to be protected from these men. Not later. Right now.

Listen to the podcast, not because it’s helpful, not because it’s inspiring, but because it’s ugly and true and demands you confront this immediately. I don’t give a good goddamn about the fact that there’s not a process for removing a tyrant. If our own declaration of independence doesn’t include the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of innocent children, then maybe our founding documents aren’t worth the parchment they were written on.

Our own fucking founding documents anticipated the depravity of a grotesque king.

My question to you is this: Where’s your fucking line in the sand? What do you stand for? How will you look your kids, your students, your partners, your neighbors in the face— and claim to have a shred of integrity— knowing that you didn’t do everything in your power to tear this regime down, before it can destroy any future for your children that is worth living?
